VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) is constantly working to improve care for Veterans, whether it is technology upgrades or adjusting processes to be more efficient. One great example includes the new changes coming to the shuttle system on March 5, 2018.
The VAPAHCS shuttle system transports hundreds of Veterans around the health care system every day. With traffic increasing as the Bay Area grows, the transportation team noticed delays that sometimes delayed connecting buses and potentially could make Veterans miss their appointments.
The team began looking at recommended changes that could help ensure Veterans can experience timely arrivals and departures. The final result were three changes that will help the shuttles avoid high traffic times and give a little more buffer for Veterans making connections to other shuttles. Beginning on March 5, 2018, the shuttle system will be implementing the following changes:
- Route A will remove the 9:45 a.m. stop at Fremont Clinic
- Route B will change its afternoon departure time from the Palo Alto Division to 2:30 p.m.
- Route C will change its morning departure time from Stockton to 7:15 a.m.
